Limiprope
Video, print and sculpture
2026
Limiprope, a body of print work, video and sculptures derives its name from a portmanteau of the words liminal and proprioception. Liminal referring to still dreamlike space which the images exist in and proprioception meaning the bodies’ subconscious ability to sense its own position in space. The work is loosely based around ideas of how our bodies move and stay frozen and still in the space we inhabit. The work also comments on gay appropriation of bondage culture from Germany in the 70’s viewed through a lens of vintage bedspread patterns made into colorful costumes.
The work is made up of photographs printed on leather and on paper along with 3D printed sculptures extruded from the original photos and the video is hand animated from those same photos to a soundtrack by Mister Lady.
